“We are really happy that Puglia is the lead partner of the Social&Creative project, that involves many entities of the Mediterranean basin. With them we want to be part of the building a new future for the Mediterranean”, stated Loredana Capone, Puglia Region Minister for Economic Development and Cultural&Creative industry during the launch conference of the Social&Creative project, held in Bari on March 15, 2017 at Nicolaus Hotel.
“Creativity and innovation drive social growth and economic development. Creativity transforms landscapes and living environments, creating more inclusive and welcoming cities and places. Innovation contributes to this process with new languages and technologies, thus allowing the creation of new products and services. In one word: development. Creativity and innovation together contribute to create a new history of the Mediterranean. We have to enhance the huge Mediterranean creativity heritage, but we have also to give life to new ideas and new possibility of social and economic growth, to be left as legacy for new generations. Creativity is a tool for social innovation, because is succeeds to generate new business ideas and new jobs.”
During the launch conference experts from 8 European countries met in Bari and discuss on the building of a “Mediterranean model of innovation”, able to improve regional policies on smart specializations and easy adaptable to all the interested countries, creating a European community on social innovation and creativity topics.
All those working in social innovation and creativity fields will benefit from this community. This process began in Bari during the launch conference of Social&Creative, where local authorities, companies, research bodies and civil society had the opportunity to discuss on sharing economy, cross fertilization, coworking, textile and clothing innovation, public procurement of innovation, cultural and creative industry.
