Rome, April 12, 2018 - The Social&Creative community, together with its 11 modular projects, is one of the protagonists of the Made in MED event, the mid-term event organized by the MED Programme in Rome on April 18th and 19th.

Built on the concept of Fablab, Made in MED is the opportunity to present the first results of the projects and illustrate how the Interreg MED Programme architecture has become a “living” integrated process with tangible contributions, where thematic communities speak in one voice. The two days will be an opportunity to convey the idea and values of co-working, knowledge sharing and innovation but also to look at the future of cooperation in the Mediterranean.

The event is composed of a conference focused on three transversal topics (climate change, blue economy and inclusive growth) and an exhibition area, where thematic communities and modular projects will allow visitors to experience the results of the activities carried out over the first 18 months of the MED Programme.

The Social&Creative community actively contributed to the organization of the conference, becoming one of the most important voices of this event. The community is in charge of the management of the inclusive growth session, together with the Biodiversity community. The session is planned on April 18, in the afternoon, and will be introduced by Adriana Agrimi, head of Puglia Region Research & Innovation Department; Luca Santarossa, Federparchi project manager and Francesco Molinari, researcher and EU project manager. Then the contribution of outstanding panelists will follow: Tuija Hirvikoski, president of ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs); Sergio Andreis, Kyoto Club director; Damiano Petruzzella, scientific administrator of the CIHEAM Bari Youth and Innovation Area; Marco Di Ciano, responsible of the Innovapuglia Research and Innovation Department; Abdellah Srour, executive secretary of the FAO General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean.

In the exhibition area, the community introduces itself to the general public through the metaphor of the coworking, setting up a space animated by testimonials and products of the cultural and creative industry and of social innovation. At the Social&Creative corner, visitors it will experience a 360° reconstruction of the landscapes of the French Riviera to explore through VR glasses; look and touch handcrafted products inspired to the crafting tradition and incorporating innovation in terms of working process, materials and design; observe the 3D printed model of an efficient building to be realised through public procurement procedures; attend the Red Dress + Repair-a-thon performance, in which the tailor Saša Nemec mends clothes accompanied by a live electroacoustic composition created by guitarist Giuseppe Lomeo, while the artist Claudia Di Gangi, wrapped in a long elastic red dress, dances and interacts with the public.
