Online international workshop on Zoom on March 22 at 2pm.
Artificial intelligence and how this can be a resource for policy makers will be the focus of the online international workshop organised by University of Rijeka - Faculty of Economics and Business in the framework of the Social and Creative project on March 22 at 2pm on Zoom.
Since the beginning, the project has shown a strong interest in exploring and sharing trends in artificial intelligence at the service of policy making. For this, the Social & Creative partnership has designed and implemented the Semantic Framework, a tool based on artificial intelligence techniques, specifically natural language processing (NLP) and semantic technologies, which allows to perform semantic searches, exploring the hidden and unknown connections between MED projects, pilot actions and private and public stakeholders belonging to the same or different thematic domain. The Semantic Framework is designed to extract knowledge and strategic information from documents that will support decision making and strategic planning, particularly for the analysis of funded projects. It can be seen as an advanced decision support system able to deal with unstructured documents, which offers various stakeholders and policy makers an unexpected view of the program's results, with the overall goal of promoting collaboration and innovation.
The workshop involves testimonials from EU academia, businesses and governments to narrow the focus on what is happening and the forthcoming trends. Artificial intelligence, in fact, is one of the great challenges for a country's production system: thanks to the development and implementation of emerging technologies, it is possible to promote the digital transformation of production processes, innovation and the competitiveness of businesses, also guaranteeing occupational, social and environmental protection.
